This sounds very consistent from what I've been hearing from Britannia international school Guangzhou. But honestly from the details I've heard, this post barely skims the tip of the iceberg. - BananaSteve51

I think the only thing British are the teachers and the curriculum. The school is ran like an American corporate nightmare. Surprise KPIs, metrics that grade teachers based on things like grades, but the same standards don't apply for everyone. There seems to be a lot of context missing here.
You’ve explained in detail how you believe you were treated, but very little about what happened on your side before those decisions were made. That makes it difficult for anyone reading this to judge the situation fairly. Some of the claims are also extremely serious, yet it isn’t always clear which events you personally witnessed, which came from other people, and which are your own interpretation.

I think you present a very valid point and it's perfectly understandable to read this with a level of skepticism. I do believe that non of the staff are perfect, and everyone has had their fair share of incompetence.
As you may have noticed, this is a burner account. Unfortunately due to staff members both employed or previously employed having faced retaliation, I am purposely trying to keep the specific order of events and the perspective in which they are told generic to the extent where they would not incriminate any individuals.

For any new staff members looking for a more objective view on things, they should ask previous staff members why they left, who was fired and why, and compare that to the performance of staff who have stayed. - I_am_coward1988

You saying I’m painting a biased picture is actually wild, because your entire post is built on selective context. You give every detail that makes management look bad, but when it comes to what staff actually did before things reached that point, suddenly everything becomes vague. That is literally bias. You also claim you’re protecting people, yet you’ve shared enough gossip and specific situations for insiders to know exactly who you mean.

Then the head of school is being called names in the comments while you’re still trying to present this as “fair” and “objective.” If your case is really that strong, you shouldn’t need hearsay, insults, missing context and other people’s grievances to carry it. I'm not saying you're painting a biased picture. I'm saying anybody is free to take what I say with a pinch of salt. This is Reddit. For all you know, this place could be paradise.
Teachers have had qualms with academic policies, been vocal about choices made by management, been late to clock in, teaching the wrong curriculum, lack of classroom decorations, poor academic performance, etc. This is public knowledge at this point. I could tell you what was public issued for why they got fired and what happened beforehand.
Anybody is free to look at this post, think I'm crazy and move on and that's fine. If you wanted to ask more about things that have happened, you're free to do so. This is more for the people thinking of working here. Go and find anyone who has left in 2026. They are plentiful and you're more likely to get something specific and useful than here. - I_am_coward1988

I do find it interesting that in several of these posts you have reiterated the “falsifying of police documents against a staff member who ALLEGEDLY assaulted another employee” yet forgot to mention that said person changed the account of events on two different occasions, also bore witness to the actual assault (because yes it did in fact happen), and got in the middle of the two people involved to break it up.

Falsifying their own statements by continually changing the facts. Police question when stories don’t align. While I agree you are entitled to your own opinion, I do believe it is as unethical and honestly quite cowardice to write such a post without having the integrity to actually tell the whole truth. There are always more sides to a story and before defending people who have left or been fired you should ask yourself if the misconduct of students rights as well as their wellbeing are more important than keeping the very people who damage that trust. - Correct_Freedom2037

I think it would be very beneficial to get more sides to these stories.
Can you provide more information on teachers who were fired in their first week? I would love to hear the other perspective on their serious misconduct that warranted dismissal before they even began meeting the students.
Have all the teachers who have been dismissed throughout the years received their compensation in accordance with the legal labour requirements? (Both local and expat staff)
Teachers aren't going to be saints and I'm not here to defend their actions.
