Our history

Helping foreigners find a clearer next step.

ExpatRights has published practical information and supported the expat community in China since 2017—a nine-year history built around making the first step clearer.

Why it exists

People often ask for help only after a work, housing, visa, salary, or contract problem has become confusing. A simple first step makes the next conversation more useful.

What we do

We organize short intake requests, publish practical resources, and help people find an appropriate guide or legal professional.

What changed

What began as community information has grown into a clearer front door for resources, direct intake, and a developing legal partner directory.

What we are not

ExpatRights is not a law firm and does not provide emergency services. Licensed legal advice and representation come from qualified professionals.
