144 hour Visa Exemption Transit policy

As we all know, visa is a must when someone travel or visit to China. But now you can enter China without visa since 144-hour Visa-Exemption Transit policy for foreign passengers has been implemented in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong province.

So, you can enter into China via ports in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, where the policy is available.

Asian (6)
Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Schengen countries in Europe (24)
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Other European countries (13)
Russia, Great Britain, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.

How to Apply For It?
There is 144-hour Transit Area for China Immigration Inspection in each port, tourists only need to confirm inquiries from the customs and submit the following materials:
❶ Valid immigration documents (e.g. passport)

❷ Connected international flights to a third country (including Hongkong & Macao) with confirmed date of flight and seat, and leave China within 144 hours.

❸ Departure and arrival card.

After customs’ examination and confirmation, tourists will get Temporary Entry Permit.

Accurate Limit of 144-hour Transit?
It is calculated by starting with 0’clock the next day of the traveler’s entry. Tourists can apply for a temporary accommodation or overnight stay in China with their Temporary Entry Permit.

[E.g] Mr. B enters China at Shanghai airport at 7:00 on Mar 1st, he can stay in China until 23:59 on Mar 7th.
*If tourists who have been staying in China for more than 144 hours or in other Chinese regions (not the permitted regions according to the policy), they should deal with other regulated temporary entry permits in specific Exit and Entrance Division of Public Security Bureau.

What Should Pay Attention To?
❶ According to the 144-hour Visa-Exemption Transmit Policy, the departure country and the destination should be different.
[E.g] If you come to GZ from America and then go back to America, the 144-hour policy is not available.

❷ Pay attention to where you can stay after entering China.
If you enter China at airport in Guangdong, you can go to any city in Guangdong.
If you enter China at airport in Jiangsu, Zhejiang or Shanghai, you can also stay in any city within these three provinces.
